About the Role:

You will be mentored by our wonderful and knowledgeable buying team, an invaluable opportunity for you to expand your skills & learn from a team with intrinsic industry experience.  This is a fantastic role for someone early in their career who’s eager to learn and grow within the buying team, part of the national support office located in Adelaide CBD.

 

This position requires an organised, analytical individual who enjoys working independently while providing valuable insights and support to the Buying Department.

Key Responsibilities:

 

 Pharmacy support: buyers are the key contact between the pharmacies and the Buying Department. In the role buyers will develop a strong understanding of their business as direct support to pharmacy teams to ensure business and supplier expectations can be delivered at a pharmacy level.

 

 Supplier engagement – working closely with suppliers to negotiate best outcomes for pharmacies while supporting business growth. Support pharmacies to achieve targets set out as per supplier agreements.

 

 Stock management: Analyse sales and inventory data to ensure accurate stock allocations for pharmacies. Manage product lifecycle and place supplier orders within required timeframes.

 

Category management Ensuring that the range is consistently up to date and maintained in line with brand and supplier support. Work closely planning team & suppliers to deliver correct range to pharmacies and communicate executable planograms for pharmacy team to follow.

 Catalogue activity: Working closely with the other buyers and marketing team to develop promotional catalogues in line with supplier negotiated promotional plans and new product launches.

 

About You:

The ideal candidate will have buying experience working in a retail or FMCG environment with sound communication, analytical and technical skills. You will be able to juggle multiple tasks to meet your deadlines, with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

 Key attributes we are looking for include:

  • experience in a buying role, preferably within a multi-site retail environment.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with all stakeholders, through strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must
  • A strong eye for detail and high degree of accuracy in your work.
  • Ability to analyse data to make informed business decisions.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to embrace change and drive improvements.
  • Experience in the pharmacy industry a plus but not essential
